Oil Painting selected as CCC Palette to Palate Signature Artwork (sold)

Back in March, my oil painting “Red Chile” had been selected as the signature artwork for Coconino Community College’s Palette to Palate fundraiser. The painting would have been auctioned off during the event, with money raised going to support the CCC art department. Unfortunately, the event had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Happily, the painting was still sold, with half the sale price donated to CCC. Thank you to Frank and Nancy Branham for their purchase and additional generous donation to support CCC art students!

“Red Chile”, 16x20 oil on canvas, 2020. Still life with dried red chiles and a small bowl of ground red chile. The use of ground red chile in cooking reminds me of the use of ground pigments in the preparation of paints in art.
